单均铭为了保护母亲一手创办的成人皇家艺术学院不被拆迁建成商业街,收购了学校。准备对学校进行维护加建,却遭到了误以为他要拆学校的顾婉婉的强烈阻拦。单均铭为了不让顾婉婉影响他对学校的改造进度,强行将顾婉婉留在身边,让她没时间捣乱。 两人却在相处的过程中互相吸引,单均铭发现自己爱上了顾婉婉,准备向顾婉婉告白。 告白前夕,单均铭意外发现了顾婉婉就是五年前那个戏弄了他的感情,还间接害他听力受损,不得不放弃学习音乐的人。单均铭决定报复顾婉婉。 直到顾婉婉伤心离开,单均铭才发现不管是五年前还是五年后,一切的事情,都是庄美言的设计,他误会了顾婉婉。单均铭恍然大悟,最终找回了顾婉婉。
根据水门事件揭发人Carl Bernstein和Bob Woodward所写自传改编的电影。二人是《华盛顿邮报》的记者,在水门事件里,他们历尽艰辛揭开政治黑幕,人物和事件一同成为美国一段家喻户晓的历史。故事由五名盗贼开始,他们潜入水门大度行窃。本来是一桩不甚重大的刑事案件,却在Bernstein(达斯汀·霍夫曼Dustin Hoffman 饰)和Woodward(罗伯特·雷德福Robert Redford 饰)的追查下,最终撕开了一条大裂缝,矛头直指总统尼克松。从1972年到1974年,从尼克松竞选总统到尼克松连任上台,华盛顿邮报受到的压力越来越大,甚至被威胁。主编本·布莱德利站在了新闻自由和相信自己记者的这边,Bernstein和Woodward得以继续追寻事件真相,得到了重要线人“深喉”的帮助,经历了难以想象的曲折艰辛后,水门事件最终导致尼克松总统下台。
德华(刘德华饰)喜欢打牌,以打牌为生的他出名好牌技好牌品,与他相恋多年的咏琪(梁咏琪饰)因为牌品差,始终没能与德华结为连理,令她顿足。德华的弟弟天乐(古天乐饰)知道哥哥要以打牌为生养活患有痴呆症的母亲和正在读书的自己,决定跟青云(刘青云饰)打牌比试,谁知连连落败。 一次牌局中,咏琪不甘被德华以牌品的问题多次推搪婚约,便咀咒他从此“一世摸烂牌”,跟着同样拜师不成的青云离开了。 咀咒真的灵验了,使德华家道中落,但一向乐观的他深信自己的“好朋友”会回来的。在弟弟公司举行的麻将大赛中一路稳打稳扎,与青云再次对垒,最后能否获胜呢?
Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
