Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　两名高等法院的法官遭杀手谋杀，法学院高材生达比（朱莉娅•罗伯茨 Julia Roberts 饰）随后开始调查此案，起草一份该案的报告，名为《塘鹅报告》。达比找到了记者格兰（丹泽尔•华盛顿 Denzel Washington 饰），因为他是最后一名见到其中一名法官的人，希望能得到他的帮助调查此案。一天格兰接到了一个神秘人来电，此人自称知道谁是该案凶手，格兰跟踪到了此人，可惜未能拦下他。　　此时，总统暗中命令相关人士不要插手此案。格兰由此起疑，随后调查到了总统和马氏集团关系密切，而且一切证据都表明，马氏与两位法官的死有着千丝万缕的关系！
