Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　为给身患重病的父亲交付医药费，电工文斯（萨姆·赖利 Sam Riley饰）不得已卖掉了房子。一次偶然的机会，文斯在他修理的房间里得到房主的一封神秘信件和一张不知道终点的火车票。一面是房主的离奇意外死亡和完全未知的危险旅程，一面是一笔足够改写人生的巨额财富，文斯最终还是决 定踏上这次神秘旅程。然而当他抵达隐蔽的目的地之后，等待他的却是一场无法全身而退的疯狂杀人游戏。　　本片翻拍自2005年法国犯罪惊悚影片《百万杀人游戏》（13 Tzameti），依旧由原作导演兼编剧的格拉·巴布鲁阿尼执导与编剧。萨姆·赖利、米基·洛克、杰森·斯坦森、雷·温斯顿等多位硬汉同台演绎这场生死博弈。
