Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 苏查·玛娜英,阿萍雅·萨库尔加伦苏,吴翊歌,亚历山大·伦德尔南、欧、尼克、窦和梅是五个刚毕业没多久的新新人类，出于对影视行业和灵异题材的热爱，他们拍摄了一支闹鬼废墟的小短片。虽然没有获得相关公司的认可，但一经上传后很快得到网友的广泛关注和支持。在此之后，专门拍摄灵异题材的制作公司鬼域（Ghost Land）联系到他们，邀请三个人前往端岛拍摄。端岛是位于日本长崎一座形状酷似军舰的岛屿，19世纪末曾凭借丰富的矿藏赢得某大型企业的关注，但是随着能源方式的改编如今已变成遍布废墟的荒岛。 无所顾忌的年轻人们登上端岛，期间还遭遇传说中的美女美子的鬼魂，他们就此厄运缠身……
